According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the annual Construction Cost Index (CCI) increased by 29.84%. The latest statistics confirm that construction costs in Turkey continue to rise steadily.
The main driver behind this increase was the rise in labor costs, which climbed by 32% over the past year. Labor expenses grew faster than the cost of construction materials, making them the key factor behind the overall increase in the cost of new developments.
For the real estate market, this indicator is particularly important. Rising construction costs have a direct impact on the prices of new residential projects, as developers are forced to incorporate higher expenses into property prices.
Experts note that if the current trend continues, there are no significant prerequisites for a decline in primary real estate prices. On the contrary, higher construction costs continue to support the value of newly built properties and remain one of the key factors influencing the Turkish housing market.
For buyers and investors, this means that purchasing property during the early stages of construction remains one of the most effective ways to preserve capital and secure today’s price before potential future increases.
